“Pitch Night” kicks off 2015 Media Rise Festival weekend events
WHAT:
Storytellers, designers, and creatives dedicated to advancing positive social change through media are invited to participate in the 2015 Media Rise Pitch Night to be held on Friday, October 2, 2015.
Submit your proposal for a chance to showcase your project to an event audience consisting primarily of media, tech, and social innovation professionals, and the opportunity to win cash prizes and services to jumpstart your project. This year’s event will be sponsored by Huge, PVBLIC Foundation, Newsweek, and Cove.
The pitch proposal deadline has been extended to Monday, September 14 at 11:59 p.m. The application form is available online. Applicants must explain what cause they care about, what community they aim to serve, and what forms of media they’ll be using to create positive and lasting social or environmental change.
On the day of the event, selected candidates will pitch their idea to a distinguished panel of judges who will vote on the prize winners. Participants are eligible to receive cash awards or creative services to make their idea a reality.
This year’s Grand Prize includes:
+ $1,000 cash prize
+ one full-page color ad in Newsweek, designed by Huge
+ one-hour design/UX consultation from Huge
+ one-hour media strategy consultation from PVBLIC Foundation
+ one month free individual large plan at Cove

The audience will also cast their vote on what project to fund with a People’s Choice Award, using a portion of the money pooled from the price of admission.
